Alaric's Birthday Party

               Happy Birthday (Party) Alaric!

Today was Alaric's birthday and we were so thankful to everyone who joined us. We had some amazing 75-degree weather and got to have the party outside. It was a hectic day prior to the party and thankfully Marlana and my mom came over to help out. I didn't think we could get everything out on time but we did - just barely.

I had a Gryffindor colored banner which had pages from the first Harry Potter book in it too which was very cool. I had ordered it from Etsy and am going to hang it in Alaric's room now.

I also had balloon sets in all house colors, yellow tableware, and red lanterns.

We had gift boxes, harry potter glasses, and Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans for the kids.

My mom had made red velvet cupcakes and I had edible Hogwarts crest toppers. I made Alaric a mini cake like the one Hagrid brought Harry - it was pink with green frosting. I thought it turned out awesome and he had fun smashing it.

We had fresh fruit and vegetables and some Chex Mix for the guests to nom on too.

Alaric was very tired but did SO great the whole day. We had a lot of no shows and cancellations so the turnout wasn't that great but it was fun either way.

At the end of the day, we had some fun taking selfies. I wish I would have taken more earlier but it was just so crazy. I don't even remember much of the party because I was running around like crazy.

Happy 1st Birthday Alaric

I am ONE!

We started the day off at 6:30 am which was not to mom's liking on her day off, but that's okay! The birthday boy gets what he wants, right? While I was making some vegan funfetti waffles, Alaric was getting stuck in the cat tower. He did manage to dislodge himself before needing help though.

After some cat tower climbing, we both at breakfast of waffles and strawberries. They turned out amazing and I had lots of leftovers to freeze for the weekends.

Then we both got dressed and ready for the day. We had to pick up grandma at 10:45 from the car shop because her brakes weren't working properly so we did that first.

Then we were off to Superlide Amusment Park! We went on the pink elephant train, and the carousel which he didn't like at all. Then we sat in the shade and enjoyed watching the other guests on the rides. He loved the look of the roller coaster and ferris wheel.

We did go down the slide which was more scary for me and Marlana than him but he wasn't so sure about it either.

Marlana and I had a water balloon battle and equally soaked each other. Alaric didn't like it so much so he sat out the second time around.

He soon crashed after the park, but woke up just as fast and wouldn't go back to sleep.

I didn't forget about presents! He got to open this hedgehog scooter from mom and dad and also a tractor with animals from Aunt Dar and Uncle Mark. The rest will have to wait for his party.

Once daddy got home, we went swimming at Elks Pool! He didn't love the water at first but didn't cry and liked it better after about 30 minutes.

We ended the day with a carrot cake cupcake. He didn't like when I tried to stop him from touching the fire but loved eating the cupcake!

All in all, a perfect day. He crashed so hard and only woke once during the night. I even had to wake him for daycare the next day.
